While New Zealand also has glacier retreat, we are fortunate that we
do not have a population that depends on ice melt for water in dry
periods, but it is another indication that climate change is important
to the world - and that our trade could be affected should a New
Zealand Government renege on international agreements relating to
reducing harmful emissions. It is bad enough that the current
government does not appear to be taking those commitments seriously -
we may still avoid trade sanctions, but have to pay significant
penalties for not meeting targets that successive New Zealand
Governments have committed us to meet.

You are once again deliberately twisting facts. Your assumption is that there
is something that we (humanity) can do to change the way the climate behaves.
There is as yet zero evidence of that being true. So you are still politicking.
There are no binding agreements on harmful emissions - that is a lie, many
times posted here by you.

I acknowledged in my post above that New Zealand could renege on
international agreements relating to reducing harmful emissions -
thankfully the National Party at least appear to understand that
having trade abruptly stop to a number of countries would be less
desirable than retaining commitments that the Key government signed us
up to.

You are still doing it. You are lying. There is no such binding agreement and
therefore the word renege is idiotic and out of context.
