This is worth a read. It adds to or puts a slightly different slant on this
matter of the Maori claiming having been downtrodden for 181 years. The
existing system not working, so need another one.

Taking health care or prisioner rehabilitation, there is general agreement
that having a healthly population with low numbers in prisions is a good
thing. So a method that works is a good thing. If its a case of Maori
running the programmes then well and good. If this is the Maori Health
Authority, no issuse apart from the word Authority.

The comments are worth a read too. Rare event, they make some good points.

We come to the matter of those 181 years, called history which results in
the more extreme people on both sides think that the other should leave the
country for good.

This could go wrong in so many ways and the challange is to accept that new
way needs to be tried. Both sides need to keep the more extreme ones under
control. The moderates have to keep talking and the Government needs to show
some tough love. (leadership).

Things are going to get tense at times, as they have done in the past.
Keeping the balance and understanding of what the outcome needs to be and
how to get there is going to be a challange.

Can't see any comments on the link so Stuff couldn't have like them
