Weather report last night had a bunch of 'meteorologists' gabbing on
about sea temperatures and how little fishees were being boiled alive.
Evidently no-one has told these 'experts' about such things as the
THERMOCLINE or anything vaguely oceanographic.
Or how, in the Tropics, this warm sea water is the bog standard and has
been that way since oceans existed.

If that reverses it won't just affect Europe and America who could finish up experiencing another ice age, but it would affect the rest of the world because the conveyor isn't just confined to the North Atlantic. Scientists are worried because the melting of the Greenland icecap could cause the reversal....

Thankfully most countries are starting to do something about reducing
human initiated global warming; but long term the effects of volcanic
activity, rotation of magnetic field and changes to wind and currents
are likely to make significant climate changes as well.

The behaviours of the Gulf Stream and the Atlantic Conveyor interact more or less in a virtuous-circle chicken-and-egg manner so, being crucially inter-dependent in terms of their effects on global climate patterns, neither can be considered in isolation from the other.
