Test (results) are either negative or positive. Even if you do not want a
postive result often.

Nope. Countless cancer suspects around the world receive the following four-word report from their consultant oncologist:

"Biopsy returns no tumour." - IOW, "You're probably OK as far as can be ascertained since our knowledge is necessarily limited".

Same limitation applies to any pandemic. And by the time a vaccine is found and developed for routine use, it'll already have quietly mutated a few thousand times, just like yer common-cold and 'flu virii.

Despite what God may ordain, pathogens, not man, have always held dominion over this Earth. And they will continue to hold that dominion long after human kind has eventually degenerated and returned to its base primordial condition, inevitably and completely extinguishing all traces of itself. For lack of wisdom and prudence.

Indeed, one might well collectively name pathogens as "The Ultimate winner-takes-all Rentier Mob".

I suspect all Gordon was saying is that the test results are likely in
thios case at least to be binary - either Yes / No for Covid19
confirmed / not confirmed. "Normal" is however usually interpreted as
"Virus tested for no found" Interpretation can however sometimes be
important; false positives and false negatives are not necessarily
trivial.
