So, do you think that child-centric educational policies and the consequent failures in educational achievement outlined in this article are due to New Zealand's increasingly gynocratic governments?

Well its all part of a global trend of dumbing things down, which by the way
some saw and forecast many, many moons ago.

Indeed, the so-called "National Standards" with a huge emphasis on
measuring a small part of the knowledge and skills needed for
international comparisons; taking a large amount of teachers time away
from students and also removing assistance for special needs and
diversity all made work much harder for teachers and gave worse
results for students.

It started with "Today's Schools" and the Lange government - remember that
failure?
And no government since has managed to do any better. That is "none".
